This notice explains how giuliaguglielmi.com handles the limited personal data involved in running the blog, its newsletter and optional behavioral analytics. The data controller is Giulia Guglielmi.

Data handled by the website

  • Newsletter: the email address you submit, your language preference, confirmation status and the technical records needed to honor subscriptions and unsubscriptions.
  • Technical logs: standard request and security logs generated by the hosting and delivery infrastructure.
  • Microsoft Clarity: only after you allow analytics, Clarity receives page URLs, device and browser information, referral data, approximate location and interactions such as clicks, scrolling and navigation. It reconstructs sessions from page structure and interaction events rather than recording a video of your screen.

This blog does not send Clarity your name, email address or a custom user identifier. Newsletter fields are explicitly masked, and Clarity masks text entered in input fields.

Analytics consent

The Clarity tag is not loaded until you select Allow analytics. If you allow it, the site sends an analytics storage consent signal and keeps advertising storage denied. If you select Necessary only, no Clarity request is made.

Your choice is stored locally in your browser. You can reopen the consent panel at any time using Analytics preferences in the footer. Revoking consent reloads the page without the Clarity tag.

Why the data is used

Newsletter data is used to deliver the updates you requested and to manage confirmation and unsubscribe requests. Technical logs are used to keep the service secure and reliable. With your consent, Clarity is used to understand which articles are read, where readers stop scrolling and whether links or controls are confusing or broken.

Cookies and local storage

The language and analytics choices are stored in your browser. After analytics consent, Clarity may set its first-party cookies, including_clck and _clsk, to connect page interactions into a session. No advertising consent is granted by this website.

Retention and service providers

Microsoft states that normal session playback data is retained for 30 days, while heatmaps, click data and selected or favorited recordings may be retained for up to 9 months. See Microsoft's current Clarity retention documentation.

Newsletter information is retained while the subscription is active and as needed to remember an unsubscribe request. The providers used to operate the site include Microsoft Clarity for optional analytics, Cloudflare for delivery and email, and the hosting infrastructure managed through Coolify. These providers may process data under their own privacy terms and applicable transfer safeguards.

Your choices and rights

You can decline analytics without losing access to any article. Every newsletter message includes an unsubscribe option. For questions or a request concerning your personal data, contact gguglielmi94@gmail.com.
