This notice explains how giuliaguglielmi.com handles the limited personal data involved in running the blog, its newsletter and behavioral analytics. The data controller is Giulia Guglielmi.

Data handled by the website

• Newsletter: the email address you submit, your language preference, confirmation status and the technical records needed to honor subscriptions and unsubscriptions.
• Technical logs: standard request and security logs generated by the hosting and delivery infrastructure.
• Microsoft Clarity: the Clarity tag receives page views and basic interactions, such as clicks and scroll depth, always in cookieless mode. It does not record a video of your screen and it does not connect your visits into an identified profile.

This blog does not send Clarity your name, email address or a custom user identifier. Newsletter fields are explicitly masked, and Clarity masks text entered in input fields.

Analytics without cookies

The Clarity tag is loaded after the page becomes interactive and always receives denied signals for both analytics storage and advertising storage. In this mode Clarity sets no cookies, stores no identifier in your browser and treats each page view separately, so this website shows no cookie banner and asks for no tracking consent. Advertising storage is never granted.

Why the data is used

Newsletter data is used to deliver the updates you requested and to manage confirmation and unsubscribe requests. Technical logs are used to keep the service secure and reliable. Clarity is used to understand which articles are viewed, where readers stop scrolling and whether links or controls are confusing or broken.

Cookies and local storage

This website uses no analytics or advertising cookies. The only value it may store in your browser is your language choice, in a locale cookie used to send you to the English or Italian version of the site. Because analytics storage is always denied, Clarity does not set its _clck and _clsk cookies.

Retention and service providers

Microsoft states that normal session playback data is retained for 30 days, while heatmaps, click data and selected or favorited recordings may be retained for up to 9 months. See Microsoft's current Clarity retention documentation.

Newsletter information is retained while the subscription is active and as needed to remember an unsubscribe request. The providers used to operate the site include Microsoft Clarity for behavioral analytics, Cloudflare for delivery and email, and the hosting infrastructure managed through Coolify. These providers may process data under their own privacy terms and applicable transfer safeguards.

Your choices and rights

Because measurement is cookieless and aggregate, there is nothing to opt out of: no tracking cookie is set and no profile is built. Browser settings, tracking protection or a content blocker will stop the Clarity request entirely if you prefer. Every newsletter message includes an unsubscribe option.
